As is the indifference... no that's too kind... the strategic use of

civilians as shields by Hamas.

Are you arguing a nation shouldn't care more about the safety and security of its own citizens than it does about the safety and security of civilians that elect an organization hellbent on the destruction of Israel that just carried out a horrific, barbaric attack on Israel and hides behind those same civilians as protection. Protecting the safety and security of its own citizens is sort of job #1 of a country.

To suggest that it's some sort of revelation that Israel would take more care to protect its own citizens than it would to protect Gazans seems a bit ridiculous. Did the US care more about US citizens during WWII than it did about the civilians of Dresden or Tokyo or Nagasaki or Hiroshima. Duh... of course we did.
