I suspect most working people other than those of us with high-dollar

jobs and nice 401K plans would support that if they understood it.

Not sure why funding a social safety net would be considered "whistling past the graveyard." Personally think one thing the Trump revolution -- despite its many warts and many dark, ugly and ignorant themes -- is showing is that the traditional GOP party line of "just cut taxes, deregulate, and shrink government and all will be well" is finding fewer and fewer buyers outside of its REAL target audience -- business people who don't give a flying f**** about working people.

Yes, JoeyWahoo, I've been reading Deer Hunting. The narrative between Bageant and the natives feels like hanging out with people I went to high school with and/or reading their FB posts. But I'm getting where you've been coming from these months on Trump. It's all making sense -- almost like he predicted it a decade ago.
