Shouldn't he be asking why the 12.4% being paid doesn't already do that?

Perhaps we need to look at that before taxing even more, or stepping on the SS bankruptcy gas pedal? How many people put away 12.4% of their income away? And then worry about retirement?

Somehow we think 2.9% is enough to cover Medicare for retirement (it's not), yet 12.4% isn't enough. (yes, I get that there is a wage cap on SS)
