For example, either Fetterman or Oz. I think there’s no reason to assume only those people would be in a lottery. They’d be a minority.

But the much bigger point - if Tubberville were selected in a lottery to serve a six year term, even if the same exact guy we have now, we’d have a completely different senator. He would not be so self impressed with his win, and likely to be comfortable imposing his will like he is. Right now he expects to be rewarded in his next election. That would not be an issue. He’d have far less motivation to fuck with the military.

This is the core of Grant’s idea.
