I thought I said that in my post, but seems I was not very clear. What I was trying to say is that there is a pretty big gap, IMO, between being legal (as in not outlawed or unreasonably restricted) and being a "right."

I also see that I was not very clear at all as to what I intended by a principled stance against this legislation. It seems to me (without having really looked at the detailed language of the bill) that one might very reasonably take the position that contraception should be generally available and not outlawed (no significant or unreasonable government imposed restriction or regulation) and that we should also not have a piece of federal legislation trying to guarantee some access to said contraception. I was trying to say that I am not giving those who voted against it for honestly taking that position, but that is, IMO, a reasonable position one could have.
