A “right” to contraception has always seemed strange to me. Not sure why

that wouldn’t translate to a “right” to 1000 other things a person might want such as heroine or fireworks or a pet tiger.

Doesn’t mean I think a state should outlaw any of these things, but there seems to me to be a pretty large amount of space between a “right” to something and outlawing it. Contraceptives fall somewhere between those to me.

I will not give many of the republicans who voted against this any credit for such a principled stand just like I won’t give most of those who voted for it any such credit. However, it seems completely possible to me that one could have a principled stand against this legislation and also believe that no state should generally outlaw contraceptives.
