Libertarian conservatives who posts here and isn’t anywhere close to a Trumpanzee idiot. I just found that take a bit odd.

I do understand it — but it’s way too rosie a view of federalism, IMHO. The federal constitution has been incorporated to the states, and the quaint notion of “state’s rights” may as well be dead as this isn’t 1850, it’s 2022. Quite frankly, I think our system is largely fucked BECAUSE we put so much emphasis on states as if we are somehow a collection of 51 independent countries when we are anything but that (and the concept of state boundaries is all the more ridiculous in this digital age where virtually nothing is purely “local”). Just my view, and I’m sure RML would disagree — but I think people stuck on federalism are largely living in the past.
