It’s not a principled stand, and your analogies fail at the starting block.

Pet tigers and fireworks have a way of impacting others - they can do great harm. My choice of contraception has no impact on anyone outside my bedroom (or where ever I might be getting lucky).

There is nothing inconsistent in the Constitution in preventing states from infringing on deeply intimate, private rights that have no impact on anyone other than those making the decisions about how to conduct their private lives.
