Yeah I agree about Di Blasio. And some other city leaders


Around the country. Just as I agree that a certain subset of repubs today, but not most, are basically pro-Putin.

One of my points is that dems who never once supported defund, which is the centrist wing that dominated nationally (not always locally) in ‘20 was not for “defund”. Their individual positions were irrelevant - the lowest common denominator on the issue were applied to all.

Again, I don’t have to agree with you about nyc 2 summers ago - I agree that became the perception, and dems should focus on that, rather than trying to convince people their perceptions are wrong (which I will not do here with you).

That’s the point of the article you linked - dems need to achieve a consensus among important voter groups that they are for common sense. By being that way in reality and in the minds of important constituencies - not always the same thing.

Di Blasio deserves the perception about defund. Centrist dems did not, but that didn’t matter. They wore it anyway.
