"Defund" got hung around their necks? Seriously? You live in NYC, no?


Social unrest in urban areas on the back of George Floyd / BLM led to total chaos in most major metropolitan cities in the US and spawned the defund movement. That social unrest was not only tolerated but encouraged by Democratic leadership. It was fucking shameful and unforgivable, at least to me. And it is not like it has abated: see the new DA of Manhattan and his view on crime.

NYC is a great example: I spent a decent amount of time there in the Summer of 20 and it was a total unlivable hellhole: violent crime way up, anti social behavior through the roof. Looting on a nightly basis. No surprise that NYC and SF showed the largest exodus of any areas in the entire country in 2021. I still own property on the UES and it is still down - probably 20% on paper, and frankly I would sell it there if there were a buyer.

This is the Democrat's issue: they are the rightful owners. I lived it and it is not something made up on Fox news. Sorry.
