It’s a combination of both. The Dems are doing some things wrong and the


Republicans are wildly exaggerating the scope and impact of those things to great effect with a gullible, poorly informed, and intellectually incurious public. Meanwhile, a not insignificant segment of Republicans support minority rule as long as that minority is white and Christian, and they’re willing to tolerate unconstitutional and even authoritarian measures to have it.

I have an extended family member who posted a video on Facebook of the German chancellor arriving at the West Wing of the WH and they indignantly decried the video as fake because you could see the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in the background, a building they and their FB friends confidently declared does not exist. This is what we’re dealing with in this country.
