there is nothing to be gained from moronic and ignorant comments like the ones he made about heehaws and Deliverance showering with gays and not knowing it. Many on here don't agree with me on this topic, but you won't see me make posts like that because it would only make me look like an idiot and do nothing to sway anybody's opinion. In addition, I can certainly understand, and respect, why many people feel the way they do, especially if, like you said, they've never even met a transgender (or knew they had), so at best I can hope to let them see things from a different viewpoint and maybe rethink their position. Or strengthen their own based on additional research and thinking. Hopefully that's been the case.

It's not really any different than if the topic were tax policy, Min Wage, healthcare, gun rights, etc. You can try to get someone to look at the topic a different way, or you can just be a flaming idiot that only strengthens people against you.

And this middle age white men shouldn't be discussing the solutions on this, women's healthcare, etc. meme is just silly and nothing but a way to try and shut down discussion when one can't defend their position. One need not be directly affected by something in order to have an opinion or engage in intelligent discussion. Not to mention, that's kind of the whole point to this board.
