To the extent we can accommodate minority interests in our society in order to provide them with same rights and privileges as anyone else, we should. My issue is when such actions begin to infringe on the rights of the vast majority of society and whether the costs outweigh the benefits.

Any person who identifies as transgender no doubt recognizes that they are in a small, distinct segment of our society. In a larger, more affluent area, additional facilities such as separate shower/changing rooms to accommodate them might be feasible. But in smaller, less resourceful regions where community showers and locker rooms exist, it's patently unfair and unreasonable to mandate that showering/changing must be allowed in the same location, regardless of biological gender. That infringes on the rights of the majority.

The inconvenience and discomfort imposed on transgendered children must be weighed against the right to privacy for the vast majority. In my opinion, the practical issue is whether a local area has the resources to make additional accommodations.
