And I get it. There is a small group of people

who really are struggling with this and who are genuinely hurt by a policy that might require you to go in the room of your biological gender or use a singe stall, unisex restroom / lockerroom.

But one of the reasons we have laws is so that the vast majority of people who want to play by the same rules play by the same rules. We don't let British subjects who come to the US drive on the wrong side of the road because they identify as British.

It doesn't have to be about a morality judgment - clearly which side of the road you drive on is not motivated by any morality. It can be simply that we need some rules so that everything works and having gender segregated changing / bathing facilities in public places might just need to be one of those rules.
