Trump being some kind of working class revolution are false -- that in fact the median income of his supporters is well ahead of both Hillary's and Bernie's and even with some in the GOP field. Yes, that includes minorities (almost none of whom support Trump and statistically are poorer than whites) but it's hard to accept Trump as some kind of working class hero when his average supporter makes $72,000 a year.

One doesn't have to be poor or white to be pissed off or an authoritarian hero worshipper, and those seem to be the strongest ties to being Trump supporters.

Both Hillary and Sanders have strong support among lower income whites too, IIRC. Sanders probably more than anyone. Which makes sense because he actually DOES care about them. I think Hillary does too, tbh (and Trump absolutely doesn't) although Hillary is more geared towards the big tent of the Democratic party and also is more balanced toward all income levels, not a one-trick, one-demographic pony. That's not a bad thing (although even I will admit there is plenty not to like about her).
