am not on board at all with Trump's anti muslim rhetoric and I know the vast majority of muslims are not terrorists. But with that being said, I still contend that Islam has a problem. The majority of the muslim world is pretty much a sh*tshow where women are treated like second class citizens (at best), homosexuality is illegal and punishable by imprisonment, lashes, and even death, and there are a whole host of other barbaric, stone age laws/punishments. Much of that is due to brutal authoritarian, theocratic regimes, but read through the linked Pew research survey on Islam and tell me you don't think there's a problem and a conflict between Islam as practiced by many throughout the world, and the modern world

A few highlights from the survey.... between 20% and 90% of muslims surveyed (depending on the country) support stoning for adultery (with most middle east / southeast asia countries at >50%). A high % (as high as 86% in egypt) support death as a punishment for leaving islam. The vast majority believe a woman must always obey her husband.

On the positive side, there was high support for religious freedom for people of other faiths and a relatively low (but still WAY too high) support for suicide bombing, and they apparently have a higher belief in evolution than americans.

Be sure to read through the entire report...there's a lot in there. Some I found encouraging, but some is also pretty disturbing. It may not be popular to say, but I think Islam DOES have a problem (just like Christianity had a problem 500 years ago). Perhaps there's a reason for Joey's neighbor to be a little wary... even if the conclusion (don't allow muslims to immigrate) goes against the principles of our nation. I would certainly be concerned if we had the muslim immigration and lack of assimilation issue that Europe currently has.
