…many states are elected officials with party affiliations and/or sympathies. Further, their employment and prestige are contingent on winning a majority of biased voters, so they are particularly not impartial in political cases, such as election contests.
Their decision-making can also be affected by exogenous forces, such as, oh-I-dont’t-know, maybe months of unpunished Dem-inspired street riots, murder and mayhem leading up to the election, firing a shot across the bow of anyone thinking of standing in its way.
All that aside, it is not I claiming that legislatures control the conduct of our elections. It’s the Constitution stating that explicitly, and the Constitution doesn’t get suspended because of a “pandemic”.
