And in 2000 and 2004, nobody tried to get state legislatures to disavow
Certified election results, never tried to turn the vp into the great overruler of millions of votes just in his authority, never so much as stood accused, much less indicted, of attempting to illegally overturn an election.
Nobody even so much as mused that the constitution should be disavowed so somebody could be installed like a dictator. Which is still acceptable free speech in this country - if Trump’s convicted, it won’t be for saying those words, for which he’s not indicted.
Trump’s indicted for allegedly attempting to overthrow a fully certified election, not for complaining about it. Yes, I’m sure you can find bitching and moaning about just about every election in American history. What you can’t find are any examples of losers of elections doing everything they could to overthrow the result they’re bitching about.
Well, not until 2020. Now we have a whole bevy of allegations. Not yet proven in court, so you could have that to hang onto. If only you’d stop shaking your head at the notion of being bound by the courts. Perhaps a refresher in American civics 101 might be helpful to you.
