Good post. For the record,...

...I have not said that all COVID deaths were of people at death's door. I have pointed out that most were of people who were old and/or frail, which is true. Something like only 6% of total "COVID deaths" were of healthy people. If you're unhealthy, that's tough, and shit can happen, but you don't penalize an entire nation in a futile attempt to stop it.

As for mitigation efforts, I'd ask you to prove that lockdowns and masks have saved any lives, but I know you can't anymore than you could prove carrying a rabbit's foot around saved lives. Even the coronabros haven't claimed that the mitigation efforts would stop the spread -- they were only put in place (allegedly) to "slow" the spread. The virus was always going to rip through the population no matter what -- it was just a question of how fast. "Slowing the spread" was introduced as a way to save lives by preventing hospitals from being overtaxed, but that never happened either -- at least on a broad scale.

We are $5 trillion+ in debt (enough to have rebuilt the entire U.S. hospital sector multiple times over), countless businesses and livelihoods have been destroyed, power has been consolidated, kids have missed two years of normal childhood/school, half the population distrusts the 2020 election due to how it was conducted in the name of COVID, memorable experiences have been cancelled, never to return, etc. And for what? There is no reason to think that what was done in the name of COVID saved a single life, much less enough lives to make the cost anywhere near worth it. It definitely cost lives. What a disaster.
