Boca, I'll put it this way. If...

...COVID panic porn weren't in the news everyday, you wouldn't even know it was happening. It's been two years, and not only do I know no one who has died from COVID, but I don't know anyone who knows anyone who's died from COVID other than a few of these cases where someone's 91-year-old granddad or whatever died of COVID while in a nursing home, which is not a "COVID death" in any meaningful sense of the term.

I've had COVID. My whole family has had COVID. A significant percentage of my friends have had COVID. It's a fucking cold/flu for most people, and something more severe for a small number of people, most of whom, as I mentioned, were already old and/or sick when they got COVID.

I really don't care what number you ascribe to "COVID deaths", especially since the actual number is both unknown and unknowable. I think saying one million have died is misleading in the extreme, but I understand why you use that number. Regardless, the societal response to COVID has been grossly disproportionate to reality, not only because it's been shooting a howitzer at a mouse, but also because 1) it's been ineffective and 2) the destruction wrought is mind-boggling. You can quote whatever number of "COVID deaths" you want, and it won't change these facts -- i.e., the only things that were in our control from the beginning.
