was nothing to do outside the home. I hate working from home, so a year of closed offices was terrible for me. But I always spend a ton of time outside, even more during covid. I traveled in the summer of 2020. I took a full-on family vacation in the summer of 21. I did miss a year of skiing out West, so that sucked.

It just didn't seem that terrible. I'm not a big restaurant guy anyhow (and don't do a ton of live music these days) - some people may have missed that a lot more (luxury). I also didn't have any issue with private businesses requesting that people be vaccinated or mask - its their prerogative. And I'm sure you've had at least 4 shots.

But the "management" of public schools was an absolute disaster - will grant you that. And many businesses (and workers) absolutely suffered. Being forced to close for a short period of time stings (I thought that's what payroll protection and stimulus was supposed to address), but I think the choices people made over the longer haul made it very hard to come back. A lot of people also did things like cancel gym memberships, cleaning services etc. - even as they continued to work. Not sure why there wasn't more pressure in communities for everyone to do their part to keep people employed.
