...being discussed in the senate is simply an election year poison pill designed to shift the blame for the Biden administration's unpopular malfeasance, and all the usual NPCs will say exactly what you are saying.

The only solution to the border issue is to 1) enforce it and 2) deport those who violated it, and that is exactly what Trump is going to do if he miraculously ever found himself in the Oval Office again.
