The good of the country than the campaign issue, but if the repubs kill it, which I think is likely, I hope the dems can make that case to the electorate. Not confident, just hopeful.
If McConnell can engineer a vote to pass the senate, then he’s very much firing a torpedo at the Trump candidacy. Because then almost definitely, the only thing preventing it from passing will be Johnson’s unwillingness to let the full house vote on it. That’s a pretty easy case to make to the electorate imo. Less so if repubs close ranks and claim the senate dems killed it first. That looks more like a he said, she said. So, will McConnell fire that torpedo? Will he get 9 senators to join him? So far, I’ve never seen him put country over party, so I’m hopeful but not confident.
