Yeah, that was my mistake. I meant to add "TBF I'm not sure a furnace would
still work because it needs electricity to drive the fan forcing the hot air", but got lazy. It doesn't change the fact that those gas fireplaces would still work without electricity. Nor that Nat Gas furnaces are still a cheaper and more efficient way of heating.
So we're back to the question of why ban Nat Gas lines in new construction (particularly when that newer equipment is cleaner and more efficient than the older "leaded gas" variety), given we're told the impact on Climate Change would be negligible at best? And thus why we shouldn't just say "whatever" to the "Cultural Warriors" pushing for such bans.
