Time during the Trump years. You can continue to insist that Biden is just the victim of circumstances beyond his control for 3 years, but that won’t fly with anyone but those as partisan as you are. The fact is that there was a 3 year war within the Biden WH that left it focused on being “not Trump” at the start, and all but paralyzed for the next three years.

Until NY and Chicago started barking. If they’d started focusing on the border 1 year earlier than they did, the compromise in Congress might have met a very different fate. And that’s Biden’s responsibility. You can’t simply absolve the admin of responsibility for the border from 1/21 through the death of the Lankford compromise. They had choices, and they made many of the wrong ones. Or simply avoided it because doing anything would piss off either the extreme left of the more centrist end of he party.
