What dem ring leader wants to nominate a historically unpopular incumbent, if they see other options? You think they actually want to make the party lose? Or they want to prove that an 86 yr old can deliver a SOTU address in 4 years? Who’s this leader(s) imposing that idiocy? The “liberal” media rails against it at least as much as it supports it.

Yes, it’s inertia. Conventional wisdom is that in these circumstances, there are no better options. Forcing a challenge would be too divisive. Joe Biden could step aside. Nobody would stop him. But it has to be his call. Dems won’t force it because they think forcing it is the worse option.
