My use of the word liberal is just to distinguish from conservative media.

So your answer is inertia? The polls show biden losing. Biden is clearly showing some increased signs of old age/dementia. That the media doesn't preface every single story about trump with sociopathic narcissist ( or something akin) does a disservice to to the 2/3 of dems who don't want joe as the nominee. Add to that how the dem process is rigged by "super delegates" and there appears to be ample evidence that something other than inertia is imposing joe on the party. It could just be the party elites controlling the process but without an acquiescent media that process would be harder.
