That primary challenges against incumbents always cost the incumbent, the fact that Harris is so unpopular and primaries including her could turn very divisive, and an overall failure of imagination that this year may be different from historical precedents.

I think your claims about the “liberal media” (a favorite Trumpie trope) is just a flip side trumpesque assault on institutions. Everybody loves them some tearing down of institutions.

The “liberal media” is rooting for Trump 2.0 in your imagination, and literally no place else. It’s almost as though you’re seeing grand conspiracies, with a puppet master in your imagination forcing a Biden candidacy on the rest of the party, and a compliant media following along for $$. Something like inertia is imposing a Biden candidacy on the party. And nothing will dominate a news cycle and draw eyeballs as much as another trump defeat with Trumpies everywhere spinning fantasies about how they were robbed again, so if profit is the entire motive, that’s a draw.
