bail and somehow came up with the cash, my guess he would have run anyway. That's a textbook example of someone who should be denied bail altogether. Which is kind of my entire point in this thread.

Someone like Jesse Matthew should be denied bail. I don't see the purpose of setting cash bail for him. Set it high enough that he can't post it, and it's the same as denying bail. So cut the charade and just deny bail. Set it low enough that he has a shot of posting bail... do you really want him let loose among the general public? Does the fact that he managed to scrounge up some money make anyone feel any safer.
