It’s ok for disagreements to go unresolved sometimes, and doesn’t mean we’re talking past each other.

I’d agree that there are cases where no cash bail is appropriate. I think I’d agree with that in this case of an associate of a confessed murderer. But in all cases, I think there’s a connection between flight risks and public safety. And since I believe cash bail frequently reduces flight risk, I think it also is a public safety measure. So, other than that you seem very hung up on that opinion I keep expressing, since you don’t seem to agree with Matt that cash bail should never be used, and we seem to agree that remanded without bail might have been best in this case, we don’t have a strong disagreement. But we likely would disagree in some cases.

Which is..ok. Judges would probably reach different conclusions on the same case at times too.
