That exact circumstance you described might very well be a war crime.

I think Israel would strenuously dispute your description. They didn’t target A mass murderer. They targeted one of the ring leaders, plus dozens of other militants, plus that portion of the extensive tunnel system which is the infrastructure Hamas uses for its attacks.

I am certain Israel will be found guilty of war crimes in some cases with all this bombing. And just like my description above is Israel’s unverified claim, so are all the reports coming from Hamas, which is the government there. I don’t think an enraged Israel is incapable of wrong here. Imagine what we’d have done if AQ hid in Gaza or something like it after 9/11. We’d be having all these same struggles.

I wouldn’t be too quick to pass judgment. It’s not like the world isn’t going to be very eager to find fault with Israel. They’re going to face plenty of blowback.
