That’s a lot to infer from a very general statement of

Israel’s resolve. Saying “we will do whatever is needed” to achieve a goal is pretty commonly used rhetoric so it’s ridiculous to suggest that statement is no better than Hamas because it *could* involve slaughtering children. No doubt children will be killed, but at least Israel will take care to avoid civilian casualties where possible, unlike Hamas who specifically targeted children. Many Israel soldiers will lose their lives as a result of Israel’s directive to minimize civilian casualties.

The surest way for Israel to defeat Hamas would be to totally and indiscriminately carpet bomb and level Gaza. This is exactly what Hamas would do to Israel if they were able. But Israel is not indiscriminately leveling Gaza and is going to send in the IDF to clear buildings one by one putting 18-25 year old Israelis at far greater risk in the process. So I reject any attempt to draw equivalencies between Israel and Hamas.
