facility just this past summer, said he was hearing voices in his head, and had threatened to shoot up a National Guard facility. There were lots of warning signs here, just like there were with most, if not all mass shooters looking to go out in a blaze of infamy or revenge on the world and those that wronged them. There is no way law enforcement and/or mental health folks can identify and prevent all of them on their own, so there has to be a way for those that "see something, can say something" to better prevent it. That's where properly written and administered Red Flag Laws can and should come in. For stopping these types of "nuts", I think her points are indeed spot on, but yes, without action, they are just words.

For the other vast majority of gun crimes and gun violence, that's where better prosecution/imprisonment, as well as strengthening/requiring background checks becomes more important. (and reduces the number of legal owners feeling the need to own a gun to defend themselves, and thus reduces the number of stolen guns, accidental shootings, etc.)
