She is catering to people like LA who believes mass shooting is reasonable

price to pay for the gun proliferation that they believe would prevent the foreign or domestic invasion event. She (and essentially rest of GOP) couldn't really say that, at risk of turning away the more moderate voters. So they have to come up with something to deflect.
