What's this?

There is no “they”. The current Republican Party is…

…not monolithic like the Dem Party, which shares an ideology and puts party discipline above all else.

Instead, the Rep Party has two factions: 1) the Uniparty establishment faction, which is fine staying the current course, and 2) the MAGA contingent, which recognizes that the current course will lead to oblivion. Those factions are fighting it out. One side will eventually prevail. Resolving disagreements is usually not pretty. Big deal.
