I take a different view.

If this was just a matter of the House flipping from D to R, it would be entirely on the R's to work this out.

But this is 100% of the D's siding with eight R's to kick out the Speaker. That's fine if Jeffries would have said, "OK Gaetz, I'll deliver all of the D's to kick out McCarthy because we think he's a lying douche and (fill in the blank) is an acceptable R to replace him. I'll deliver all D's in support. We can work with (fill in the blank), but McCarthy has to go."

If that's unacceptable to the douchebag eight, fine, let the R's work it out. But to be completely complicit in ousting McCarthy without identifying an acceptable R (there has to be one, right?) and knowing doing so would just throw the House into chaos is just a dick move, but their prerogative it seems.

But that's politics these days.
