I've avoided most political discussion on here, for a few reasons
For one, i don't think I am any type of expert in what goes on in Washington on the right or left to offer an opinion if I really don't myself know the facts of what I might complain about. Often my feelings of what I think I might know might not match up with reality. My knowledge probably is more focused on my particular field of practice and how certain policies affect my work.
Also as I read here and you mention, it often just devolves into pointless name calling. when I do post, usually people like Tommy K just post some stupid snarky response that deflects from what I've said, often to something totally unrelated, so I end up just not trying to engage in further discussion after that.
I think you and I have had some good civil discourse, although infrequent, so thank you for that, I do respect your opinions on things and hearing your side of the argument as well. I don't think I am what one would call a full on liberal, I have some conservative thought processes as well, in fact I think things that traditional Republican positions have been are very much along the lines of my thinking, it just seems most Republicans today have abandoned those (especially those pertaining to not legislating the bedroom or so much people's personal lives).
