Interesting thought that ugly discourse is maybe better than no discourse

at all by virtue of one at least reading an opposition post. That's probably true, but the constant negativity ends any deep dive that would actually engage thought or middle ground. And it might, in fact, be cause for digging heels in just a bit deeper.
