In the UK, not here. I think Trump has done a lot of damage, but

I think his policies, particularly deregulation and tax cuts, are an economic boost, at least short term. It is true that the trajectory so far in his admin has been a near perfect continuation of the trend line we were on when Trump got here, but that doesn't mean his policies aren't stimulative. We might be slowing without them. It also doesn't mean they are good for the country on whole just because they are good for the economy near term. We may pay a price for increasing our debt load so massively in the latter stages of a growth cycle (I know you like to "but Obama" on that, but let's be clear that his deficits ballooned during the Great Recession and began to decline towards the end of his presidency), and also for haphazard regulatory rollbacks.

On some level you must get that short term econ benefit does not = good for the country all the time. You support Trump's trade wars, and they are causing short term economic pain, which may be muted by the current health of the economy, but its a drag on growth near term. But you agree, I'm sure, that it will all be worth it if we bring China in line. So you get that ST economic outcome is not always the same as long term national interest, right?
