Don't you tell me what I know Tommy!

We don't even know how sustainable this apparent support for the clown prince of brexit is. We do know that there are a whole range of opposing views which don't neatly combine into a single party. We'll see how things re-emerge and realign especially when May crashes and burns again in June.

The answer to your second set of questions is pretty simple. Post WW II European colonialism collapsed, and with it, the means that the former empires supported their European masters. There is no model for them to be self-sustaining on their own, and the European Community was born. Whether the '90s acceleration to a unified EU went too far is a point of debate. IMO the euro was a tragic mistake. Just like in this country, things can always be re-examined, tweaked, or even radically altered. But what Britain voted for was a glorious past where it was self-sustaining all by its lonesome as a nation-state. It has never been that, and it can't be that. So reacting to these concerns about "Globalism", which is just some boogeyman of the nationalist uber-right at this point, by crashing out of the EU altogether is economic suicide. Or at least severe economic self-flagellation.

You guys are so funny with your railing against Globalism, once a core principle of Republicanism. Yeah, people should realize that its not working - who needs 70+ years of unprecedented growth, prosperity, freedom, enlightenment, and peace anyway? Let's return to the populist-nationalist-militarism of the early 1900s. If we're really lucky, we can end this period of exhausting peace in Europe, a continent that never experienced that before the EU and its forerunners came along.

Man, you guys are actually the intellectual and spiritual brothers of Antifa- another favorite orange boogeyman, which grew out of the anti-Globalist anarchists of the '90s. Congrats on your new alliance with them!
