I'm not sure I'm right, and your view is more consistent with how I want

this primary season to play out. It's pretty simplistic - I don't think too many, if any, Hill votes from 2016 would have flipped to Trump is the Bern was the other option. And I don't think Trump could have stolen trade issues away from Bern the way he could from Hill - which probably had a lot to do with PA, WI, and MI going to Trump.

In other words, I don't see Hill primary voters deciding to support Trump, and I suspect that the Bren inspired enough passion to get better turnout than Hill did in some of the urban centers in those battlegrounds.

Lastly, I think Trump in 2016 was probably easier to beat than Trump the incumbent will be. I'm not going to the mat over these assumptions though.
