Deny federal funding for what?

Here is something that is more of a concern for folks in states where marijuana just got legalized. When Chris Christie was running he made it pretty clear that he would enforce federal drug laws in those states. Trump administration could pursue the same policy. Now I think it is pretty clearly in the federal government's authority to do so, which is why I have wanted representatives from the states where it is legal to push to get it off the federally banned substances list. But as a practical matter you now have a can of worms. You have what...6 or 7 states, who have made recreational marijuana legal and you have another bunch of them where it is legal for medical purposes. If you want to be Draconian about it, how do you put the genie back in the bottle without criminalizing a bunch of state officials and millions of users of legal marijuana in those states?
