doubt it's the jobs that attracts illegals first and foremost (not govco handouts as some would want us to believe) and that the current system is an absolute joke. But to have an effective enforcement, first, I think you have to deal with the 11M or so that are already here. Without them having some type of legal status, how could they possibly work if you aggressively go after employers? And even then, without some system, be it everify or whatever, how hard can you enforce it on employers if they are presented with false documents? If I hire Joe, but he presents me with docs that he's Steve and passes the everify system, how do I defend myself when I've done everything I can to follow the rules?

Employer enforcement can and should be much better than what we have, but it's not so cut and dry unless you see a pattern of abuse. And again, I don't think you can begin to touch that until you have a way for the current illegals to work legally.
