Is credible, please tell me where it says that these people were released "despite" their crimes, as you say. Doesn't "despite" mean "without punishment" and aren't you then jumping to conclusions just as you claim I am? I see nothing in the article or the linked CIS piece that states or implies these people weren't punished. Look, this article and the CIS piece are full of red flags. First of all, the article quotes only the CIS writer, Vaughan, and not any direct government source. It presents as fact Vaughan's own opinions and her refutation of the ICE director. Vaughan presents repeat offender statistics that appear to apply to the general US population, but structures the paragraph in which they are presented to lead the casual (or predisposed) reader to assume they apply specifically to alien offenders. Scary statistics in the tens of thousands are cited but then the article states that "several" of the released aliens have gone on to commit further crimes. C'mon, Hoodafan. You're smart enough to know this piece is purely agenda driven and therefore highly suspect, if not in terms of raw numbers then certainly in terms of overall message. If you'd like to spend the time researching this to convince me otherwise, have at it. I will gladly stand corrected. And by the way, if you think most of these folks aren't brown skinned Spanish speakers, you're fooling yourself. As far as I'm concerned, the government can deport every last one of 'em. It's all the same to me. But I just don't get the outrage over the fact that they haven't. After all, if there were a massive crime wave being perpetrated by repeat offender illegal aliens, I don't think the credible news organizations would be overlooking it. So I choose to be afraid of real threats. And finally, as for the source and race cards you accuse me of playing, when the information source is clearly biased and is pushing an agenda that clearly has a racial component - and you can't deny that it does - then those "cards" are certainly on point, not a diversion.
