I believe Portugal was one of the easier paths and Italy will grant

citizenship to anyone that can prove they are of Italian descent. That country needs people - particularly younger people, ideally with money. I know a few people who have actually gotten Italian citizenship recently - not because they're worried about Donald Trump, but because it provides a ton of optionality professionally (access to full EU) and for retirement reasons.
