A link to an article would be great. This has been in the news for a while


Most of the people doing this are very high net worth individuals and families looking to hedge risk in a number of different ways (and access new markets, tax-efficient ways to manage their fortunes, access to different healthcare systems, etc.). Clearly it also provides a nice hedge for people worried about their home countries slipping into chaos - probably more a top-of-mind concern for wealthy Israelis than Americans right now (there's also plenty of Israeli money in NY real estate for that same reason). Who knows, though. This place is getting weirder by the day.

Seems smart to me if you can afford it. Generally requires investing $ several hundred thousand in the market offering citizenship, though.
