Chucky T gave you great advice.

St. Mere Eglise and Coleville Sur Mer are must visits. And Calvados is made from Norman apples, it is my favorite brandy of all. Chuck knows his stuff.

One thing I don't see listed that is also a must see if Pointe du Hoc, it's one of my favorite spots to visit there and the others are the Coleville cemetery, St. Mere Eglise and Omaha Beach at sunset and sunrise. We stayed right on Omaha at a family run bed and breakfast called Hotel du Casino. It's not high class but it's got its charms, waking up to Omaha Beach being one of them. The hotel itself has quite a bit of history and many luminaries have visited it, including Eisenhower and Bradley.

My dad was the tour leader for D-Day back then and he took me and my cousin up there on our days off in Paris after a WWI tour. So we saw 4 days of tour in one and a half days.

Another place to check out is the Longues sur Mer German battery that we pounded from the water. Back to Pointe du Hoc, that is the site where Reagan gave his famed speech, the Boys of Pointe du Hoc, which is widely recognized as one of the most inspirational speeches of all time. You cannot go there without seeing it. Looking over the edge thru the barbed wire, down the cliffs from the German point of view...the intestinal fortitude the rangers had there is amazing.

Normandy has become more and more commercialized and has tourist traps everywhere, just be prepared for that. If you are in to Medieval history, you'll find plenty of that as well. Head into Bayeux and get a gander at the Bayeux Tapestry and the cathedral. This is of course, William the Conqueror's region. Plenty to see in Caen as well.

For Pegasus, there will be the new bridge you can drive over and the one they fought over is in a museum you can see from the road, as I recall. We did not go into that museum due to time constraints.
Also there is a bust of John Howard located where the gliders would have landed, as I also recall.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
