Republican in this era of a total takeover of the party by a family. One with lots of questionable behavior in its past, to put it as charitably as possible.

Nonetheless, I still feel bad for people in her position. I’ve been in the position of thinking something I did was a success, only to learn that I’m the only one with that positive assessment. I can see her thinking she’d done exactly as coached and thus had fully succeeded, only to see that she’s become the national joke of the moment. I bet she’s finding it a bit tougher than usual to get out of bed in the morning these last few days.

She still has no choice but to own it, even if some of us have some compassion for her situation.
