Serious republican partisan gerrymanders, which you’re just ignoring. The normal, taken for granted checks and balances of the constitution. Probably at least a dem house. And yes, all the career law enforcement folks who’ve upheld the rule of law for decades won’t vanish if Trump’s elected.

So the answer is, the Constitution, which remains in tact, even if panicky anti-Trumpies declare it dead and buried as soon as Trump wins (which, if enough do that, will help make the end of our democracy a self-fulfilling prophecy).

But your idea is to preemptively end it before Trump even gets the chance. That would be a more effective way to do Trump’s dirty work for him, I agree.
