He was touting stimulus funds used for construction with a speech at the Tappan Zee bridge, as the new span was just underway. He landed in the lot just north of my complex. I’m never one to go fanboy on celebs of any kind, but I figured I’d never have presidential commotion in my backyard again, so I played hooky from work for a half day. First I saw the string of copters coming in so if any of my neighbors had a stinger they wouldn’t know which one to target. There were snipers positioned at intervals across the roofs of our condos. As I walked towards the landing zone, I was politely shooed back by secret service. I then walked over to the adjoining road to get a glimpse of O waving from his limo window, only to be shooed back from the road yet again.

It was all kind of anticlimactic, but at least it’s off the bucket list!
